Over the past 4 decades, developments in dental implant therapy have significantly impacted the diagnoses and treatment planning of knowledgeable dental practitioners. Critical factors include local and systemic patient issues; surgery, both grafting and implant placement; prosthesis selection, design and manufacturing; materials used; and esthetically desirable outcomes.
